First of all, YES... Iβve totally been there. Itβs so normal to hit a block and abandon projects, even ones you were super excited about at first. β Hereβs what I do when that happens: β π Put them away (for now). I'll usually just set something aside and see if I naturally want to come back to it later. It's kinda like when I go shopping and convince myself not to buy something. If my brain is still thinking about it a few days later, then I go back and get it. Same thing with my art! And if my brain forgets about it, then I just let it go! β πΈ Take a photo of it, and look at it as if you're someone else. Snapping a pic and pretending I'm looking at it as a neutral friend can sometimes help me see what I like (or donβt) more clearly. (Or if that fails, ASK an actual friend!) β β»οΈ Cut it up to reuse. If I decide this project isn't going to come back from the depths of my hatred, Iβll cut it up into pieces and use it for something else later. Keep a scraps box! β And sometimes, honestly... I just throw them out. π Itβs not a failureβitβs part of the creative process.
