Heyyy Reader!

How is it already the middle of June!?! Workshop Week 2025 was last week, and it was amaaaaaazing. Easily one of my favourite weeks of the year! The team and I have tried to rest a bit, but we're gearing up for another exciting adventure coming up in July. Have any ideas what it is? Hint: I haven't done this in nearly two years (and I really miss it!). I'll have allll the details for you next week.

For now, I have a new Father's Day card tutorial for you (plus a couple other designs if you're interested!).

As always, if you have ANY questions, just hit reply 😊

Great question! I usually recommend starting with the Tombow Fudenosuke (especially the hard tip) because it’s smaller and easier to control - perfect for beginners learning pressure.

That said, every once in a while, someone does tell me they prefer starting with the Tombow Dual Brush Pen! It’s larger and more flexible, which can be trickier, but some people just love the feel of it right away.

So while Fudenosuke is my go-to beginner pick, it really comes down to personal preference. Try both if you can, and see what feels best! Just make sure you're using worksheets that are scaled appropriately... the Fudenosuke would be considered a small tip, whereas the Dual Brush would be considered a large tip (more on that here!).

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, YOUR WEEKLY DAD JOKE!

So many of you have asked over the years where I come up with my dad jokes...

It's finally time I confess the truth... I get them from my Dada-base!
