Heyyy Reader!
I just got back from vacation and am super excited for all the things I have planned for this fall. Birthday celebrations, holiday gatherings, Workshop Holi-Day, and SO MANY crafts. 😍
This week, I'm sharing the card I made for Ryan's birthday - what do you think??
Talk soon!

Ryan's Birthday Card!
Ryan's birthday was last week.
I realized my go-to designs tend to be a bit more florally, frilly, etc.
Sooooo I wanted to make design a more "masculine" card.

Okay so there's quite a bit involved in answering this, but here's the short(ish) answer: A good rule of thumb for lettered quotes on paper is $1/word. Add a little to that per word if you're using tricky materials (say, for example, the person requested a custom colour of ink for your pointed pen that you had to mix yourself. Or if they want a really specific style that will take you longer to create.) HOWEVER, you need to also make sure that you're hitting your minimum project rate – the bare minimum you charge for any project. That figure is different for everyone (and we talk about how to find yours in this free workshop as well as the full Panic-Free Pricing course), but anyone who is charging for their calligraphy/lettering services should have a minimum project rate. For example, if someone requests a custom hand-lettered quote on paper, you should be charging at least your minimum project rate (let's say yours is $100) as a minimum. So if they want a 15-word quote, your quote is still $100, because 15 words at $1/word falls lower than your minimum project rate. If, say, their requested number of words was 300, then you are hitting that minimum project rate of $100, so you can go by the $1/word rule and charge $300. Again, pricing depends on so many different factors. But hopefully this gives you a jumping-off point!
